Ocean First continues our marine ecology adventure opportunities with a new trip to Roatan, Honduras to participate in coral restortation. We will be working with the Bay Islands Reef Restoration group to learn how
they take coral fragments from several types of local corals and help them to grow to a healthy size where they can be transplanted to the reef.
All participants will have the opportunity to take the SSI Coral Ecology course prior to departure and will actively take part in cleaning and transplanting the coral fragments. This is a great way to give back to the coral reefs that have given us all so much during our diving tenure. Don’t miss this opportunity for a hands on learning experience in a beautiful, tropical setting!
